Lavinia Spencer by Sir Joshua Reynolds. Probably 1780s.
In keeping with the season here are some pictures of 18th century ladies dressed for winter.
I think this is from the late 1780s.
1778. The cap is called baigneuse.
Probably 1780s.
Madame Drouais by François Hubert Drouais. Maybe 1750s?
Mrs Siddons by Gainsborough. 1785.
Mary Robinson by Romney. 1780s
Elizabeth Farren by Sir Thomas Lawrence. 1790.
Madame Mole Raymond by Vigée Le Brun. 1787.
My favourite outfit from the 1938 Marie Antoinette movie, and the one I thought looked the most most accurate.
